And.. this year’s Eugen Dittberner is out, also. As before stomping House tracks with decent bass and smooth synth chords, minimal but driving. Don’t expect anything new here, it’s just mostly an easy listening in steady groove, not more, but not less (CHUNK074).
The first album by Drøøgenhoven is out. First we planned to construct some decent arrangement, but then decided to keep them just like a 29 minute long running, raw TechnoFunk/PostPunk-Mix track. Unfortunately this “Running with no breaks” only happens if burnt on CD (CHUNK073).
This year’s album The GTL (formerly known as Leggina Trundimonde and Gina True Legs) provides us with 12 tracks of simple house structures, more soft than harsh, with a funk / ambient twist. It’s just an easy listening (CHUNK072).
Takuya Mitarashi surprised us with a new album just out of the blue. In opposite to his earlier loop stuff this is strange dub techno not unlike the Space Specs, but it sounds more… disregardful: The sound elements often are some kind of falling apart of each other. Interesting, very otherworldly…(CHUNK071)
It’s time to play some Dub again: Dublicist has revealed ten reggae/dub/dancehall tracks which – for the first time – do not exceed effects or running time like it was done in the “Cheap Dust” and “Reptile Brain” sessions. This album is close to some rootsy dub from the seventies with sparse delay and reverb effects… (CHUNK070). Surprisingly from an artist who was not on the prediction list.
